Предлагаемый букварь составлен мною при содействии природных чеченцев юнкера Джемал-Эддина Мустафина, Эдык Бочарова и Ахмат-хана Трамова. Первые статьи до 32 страницы переведены с русского языка, остальные же, собранные и доставленные Эдыком Бочаровым, суть народные повести и рассказы, отчасти взятые с арабского, но приспособленные к чеченской жизни. Чеченский текст с 32 страницы, как изустное предание народных сказочников, без сомнения, чище и изящнее сделанных наскоро переводов с русского языка. Из большого запаса народных сказок мы старались извлекать только такие, которые по содержанию своему наименее вредны, а иные даже поучительны для детей (Иван Бартоломей).
