It's not disputed that the Eastern Front was where WWII was lost for Germany. While the 2nd Front in Normandy was certainly the proverbial nail in the coffin, it was the destruction of Army Group Centre in 1944 that sealed the fate of the Wehrmacht and the Nazi state. Adair's book gives a generous treatment to this often overlooked campaign that had such a huge impact on the outcome of WWII.
Over 168 pages Adair charts the progress of the campaign, describing in detail the decision-making processes of both Stalin and Hitler and their respective high commands, the build-up for the campaign and then in excellent detail the actual day-by-day fighting that decided the campaign. Adair's narrative draws from a small but comprehensive bibliography which can certainly serve as a launch pad for deeper research into the campaign.

"Condemned to Live: A Panzer Artilleryman's Five-Front War", is an account by an Austrian draftee of his time in the German Army before, during, and after World War II. The book was co-written by Franz Frisch and Wilbur Jones, Jr. As the book was written more than 50 years after the close of the war, it is much more of a reminiscence of what it was like to serve in the German Army rather than describing actual fighting and campaigning. Mr Frisch served from the beginning of the war till the end, and spent two years in a PoW camp in Italy after the war.
