Once you have internalized the basic processes, there are virtually no limits to your imagination. Starting to use a new software is never straightforward – especially with a tool as versatile as FreeCAD. In the FreeCAD universe, a workable trajectory is demonstrated. The described procedure is illustrative so the examples are easily applied to custom tasks. The devices were made by the author and illustrated with photos. All examples, also the circuit board design, are electronically available in the supplemented materials online. Additionally, a higher-precision ADC and a new DAC are added to the design. The new board also supports the CAN Bus with an interface. The Arduino Uno R3 board probably ranks as the most popular Arduino family member to date and has been with us for many years. Based on the low-cost 8-bit ATmega328P processor, the Uno R3 has been used by students and hobbyists in many beginning and intermediate-level, low-speed projects requiring small to medium amounts of memory. Perhaps one of the attractive points of the Uno R3 was its powerful IDE and the simplicity of using it to develop projects in relatively short times. This book is about using these new boards to develop many different and interesting projects. The projects given in the book have been fully tested with just a handful of parts and external modules, which are available as a kit from Elektor.
