Эта книга писалась более 25 лет. Ее замысел родился из знакомства с издававшейся тогда литературой по полупроводникам – нелепой и малограмотной. Убогие книжки доводили иногда до белого каления, жалко было читателей, которые будут по ним всерьез учиться.
Планы были поначалу скромными, но материал разрастался, одни сюжеты тянули за собой другие – им тоже надо было уделить внимание. Вышла солидная работа.
