The text highlights the designing of efficient, wearable, and textile antennas for medical and wireless applications. It further discusses antenna design for the Internet of Things, biomedical, and 5G applications. The book presents Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques for antenna design and analysis. It also covers radio frequency, micro-electromechanical systems, and nanoelectromechanical systems devices for smart antenna design.

Today’s world is dominated by a culture in which interpersonal communication centered on the human body is the norm. Through its sensor nodes, antennas, and processing units, the Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is an essential component of body-centric communication. The WBAN can be used in conjunction with an external system, a system worn on the skin, or through theimplantation of a device directly into the human body. Therefore, it is commonly broken down into two subtypes: in-body and out-of-the-body.

The body area network antenna is a planar antenna that can be used for body-centric communication and has the advantages of being flexible, bio-compatible, and lightweight. The substrate class requires a malleable substance. The conductive component must be comfortable and easy to wear. Both the range and the utility of biomedical antenna technology are extremely high. Biotelemetry, biomedical treatment, and medical diagnosis are just few of the fundamental uses.

The massive amount of data used in wireless communication necessitates a high channel capacity in the spectrum. Several dual-polarized antennas with broadside radiation had to be proposed in earlier years, but varied spectrums needed everyday data utilization. Due to the cheap cost and cost-effectiveness of signal transmission at THz as well as the need for continuous broadband or wideband and high speed at a high data rate, which requires a THz antenna, the spectrum band for Terahertz (0.1 to 10 THz) has gained popularity over the past decade. The transmission and reception of radio waves, which are crucial elements in wireless communication, are accomplished with the aid of an antenna. Resonant antennas are those that operate successfully and efficiently in a specific frequency range. As a component of the system, the antenna functions as a transducer to convert electrical impulses into electromagnetic waves and vice versa.

This book:

Explores wearable reconfigurable antennas for wireless communication and provide the latest technique in term of its structure, defective ground plane, and fractal design
Focuses on current and future technologies related to antenna design, and channel characterization for different communication links, and applications
Discusses Machine Learning techniques for antenna design and analysis
Demonstrates how nano patch antenna resonates at multiple frequencies by varying the chemical potential
Covers the latest antenna technology for microwave sensors, and for fiber optical sensor communications

It is primarily for senior undergraduate, graduate students, and academic researchers in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics and communications engineering.
