Название: Lora Remote Sensing System Автор: David Clifton Издательство: Leanpub Год: 2020-03-20 Страниц: 225 Язык: английский Формат: pdf (true), epub + Extras Размер: 17.9 MB
Tells how to write an Arduino program to detect mechanical, magnetic or angular velocity disturbances anywhere within 600 yards line-of-sight of your lora base station, and to issue alerts when the disturbances exceed preset levels, which may be programmed remotely from your base station, which is a different Arduino program on the same board type. Provides complete detail, including requirements, architecture, design, hardware build, and source code for a Lora Radio remote sensing system. The system is built with readily available, inexpensive processor and multi-sensor boards available from and supported by Adafruit and Arduino. The remote sensing board(s) expect a lora radio base station to supply sensing parameters, and alarm when alerts are received.
The base station can be a lora radio receiver/transmitter board like the remote sensor host board, but programmed to support text input and output from/to a USB terminal or a smart phone. Documentation and code for the base station is available in the eBook LoraTools for Arduino SAMD M0, by the same author, and also available from leanpub.
Lora radio was developed by the military to provide medium range, secure data communication at signal strengths slightly above or even below the ambient noise floor. Semtech came out with a series of lora chips just a few years ago. Its spread spectrum algorithm is significantly different from others, and was not independently reverse engineered until recently. Lora combines low power consumption, with medium range, which depends on the algorithm parameters, signal strength, and quality of the antennas. Ranges from a kilometer to 20 kilometers have been achieved using the Semtech chip. Unlike LTE text connections, LoRa requires no central switching station or service subscription. At a frequency of 915MHz, a bandwidth of 125kHz, a single bit of error correction, signal strength of 20dBm, and an 8.2cm jumper-wire antenna, Adafruit reports a line-of-site range of a kilometer. Under similar conditions, the radio board built for this eBook easily achieves a 600 meter range.
