Written by a Cambridge academic who lectures on electronics to first year Engineering students and on Quantum mechanics to masters students, this is written from the perspective of someone who sees where most people's gaps in understanding are. It is written in an accessible style, packed with interesting information, and with plenty of examples along the lines of those found on the A-level Physics (or equivalent) papers. The book explains the meaning of Ohm's law, how components in circuits such as resistors and capacitors work, the basic principles underlying it all, and how and why electric currents flow. The author is also the founder of two Nanotechnology companies and sees the basic principles outlined in this booklet in action every day.
